My original seats were a cloth Silver and Black combination. Leather
from the dealer, as I understand, were a very expensive addition if you did not order
your car with it already installed. The covers alone are said to cost $1200 at Toyota.
These complete seats only cost me $250.

All I had to do was pick them up in Lebanon. They were out of a totaled 2003 MR.2.
I went down to check them out. I figured I would take a chance at attempting to remove
the blemishes.

First, I wated to clean and rub them down with "Eagle 1 Leather conditioner.
They were a bit dirty and after a couple applications, they looked very promising.
I thought I could lightly go over the blemishes with a heat gun (on the lowest setting)
to remove the indentations from storage. In between applications of heat and a cool
down period where I rubbed the heated area in circular motions, I noticed marked
inprovement.

I got them to a point that I was very happy with the results, though they weren't
perfect. I continued to apply leather conditioner to the seats and left it sit in
the sun with the top down. After several days of use, I could no longer find where
the blemishes were. (Good as new!)

See the two pics below to view the final results. My impressions are very positive
about having leather seats. I feel the 2003 seats have a much nicer design and exotic
look like a sports car should have. This alone makes me believe it is a value raising
addition to my car.

Looks aside, these seats do make you feel as though you are sitting up higher as
they are definitely firmer in the seat. (A slight negative to me as I liked the low
seat feel of the cloth seats. Hopefully these will sag slightly and will feel the
same.)

A nice plus is the fact that within days, the car begins to smell like leather. I
always thought vehicles with leather interior smelled so much better. No more "Pine
Trees" for this Spyder. |

Below: This is a picture of my original seats that came
in the car.
They are very basic flat seats.

Below: These are the photos provided to me from the man selling the 2003 seats
on Ebay. They look pretty rough, huh?

Apparently, they were stacked on each other and stored in a cold trailer for a while,
leaving indentation all over the passenger's seat.

Below: These two pictures show how well the seat turned out.
