Here is the video & below are some still shots.
If I missed your car, I appologize and you can look for it on the
Official Pottsville Cruise web site.

There were quite a few of the GC members present for the main cruise event.

Many entered their rides and you can see them below. I will make note of who is who by the shots. Some were happy to be parked along the cruise route, Even more met us at the Waymart parking lot as planned.

We had four GC people win trophies, including Denny & Melissa Aungst winning "Best Pre-40s original", 1st Place, with the '30 Plymouth Coupe. "Best & Hottest Mustang 1990s", 1st Place, was won by Tiff Tankalavage in her '94 Ford Mustang GT. "Best of the Fast & Furious Customs", 2nd Place, was won by Jim & Becky Beard in their '91 Mazda Miata. "Best of Light Show", 3rd Place, was won by Logan J. Beard in his '96 VW Jetta.
This picture of my 1930 Plymouth is by my favorite picture of the event and it was not taken by me. Melissa took a couple shots for fun and this was one of them.

Every year the staging area at is located at Martz Hall, also known as the D.H.H. Lengel Middle School. This is where most of the event judging takes place. This is the best place for anyone to see all the metal standing still. Again, as usual, They have a DJ playing tunes on the upper lot. The lower lot had T-102's "prize van" and hummer broadcasting and giving things away. People were around selling last minute drawing tickets for the cruise giveaway car and the sign up tables were busily registering vehicles and directing them to a position in line.

This year, the lower parking lot, pictured below right, filled with cars and trucks that were newer, like imports, 4wd trucks, custom vans, and sport trucks. The upper lots, to the left and below left, were reserved for antiques, classics, muscle cars, and street rods.

These pictures do not show all the vehicles attending the event by a long shot. Many show up late for last minute sign in. Some were content with parking with friends and family along the route or at a cruise party. Some attempted to just crash the party and cruise without signing up. This year, they were promptly stopped and sold a cruise permit.

The upper lots then left to cruise the route in one direction, while the lower lot was sent the other way. With the new extended cruise route, there was wery little delay and fewer cars overheating or breaking down.

I couldn't get to take a picture of every car, so if I missed your car, I appologize.
You might be able to find it on the Official Pottsville Cruise web site.

Here is a shot taken of the Winter Carnival, Snow Flake, and Snow Drop princesses. They were all dolled up and out around the cars doing some judging. (picture is by the same person who got the above three shots.)

The TV cameras were around and you can see the videos on channel 15, the local Pottsville information channel. You can see a video on the
Pottsville Republican Website until they remove it. (Maybe they will put a copy on the official Pottsville Cruise Website.) Try this link to go directly to the video.

Every year the cruise organizers present a Corvette to raffle for a fund raiser. We sold tickets for the car as well. They had it on display all day at the staging area where you can buy last minute chances for the car in case you missed the tickets before the event.

This year, the Pottsville Cruise Car was a a 1992 red Corvette sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc., Schuylkill Haven. The winner of the 2007 Cruise Car was Tom Murphy out of Catawissa. Not a bad ride for the price of a 2 dollar raffle ticket!
Left: A shot I took of the "Welcome to Pottsville" sign located on the hill in Westwood area of Pottsville.

Right: During the afterparty and the winner's car show, "Flamin' Dick & the Hot Rods" played an awesome concert while awards were presented. Later in the evening, the light show competitions were held, the car was given away, and fireworks closed the event. What a day!

Melissa spent quite a bit of time polishing this week. Here she is touching up our '30 with some last minute detailing. I have to admit, she did an excellent job. The car looked great! Below, the judge didn't pass us by this year and Melissa is showing the results of her hard work. I had the easy job, I got to drive it through the cruise. I went three laps in the heat and the car never went above 215 degrees. That's a little warm, but for a vehicle with no water pump, cooling jackets only around the cylinder head and top of the cylinders, and a 77 year old original honeycomb radiator, I was happy.

Melissa on the other hand got to drive her Mother inlaw's new Mustang Convertible. It's the '93 5.0 liter LX convertible pictured above. This was Jerry Enders' car and was used to parade Miss America Pageant Contestants when it was still held in Atlantic City. There were 217 build with this Yellow paint, white top, and white& black interior. It's a pretty sweet ride. We enjoyed making some rounds it it. Below are some very cool pics we found that someone took of us cruising through Pottsville.

..
I tried to get pictures of as many GC members that were at the event. Let's start going through everyone who was there and what they were driving. Below on the left is a shot of Matt Murpy's cool Blue Camaro. In the Center is one of our newest members, Bob Boretski, who came in from Hazelton with his stripe delete 402 cube SS Chevelle. The vehicle on the right was Tiff Tankalavage's '94 Mustang, which also won first place in the Best and Hottest 90's era Mustang. She told me it made up for her speeding ticket the evening before.

Jim Zerbe's nice '57 Chevy Belair cruiser caught some looks and even made the picture in the paper when they were out on the cruise route. He had the family with as usual. It's always great to see them enjoying the day together.

.
To the left below is a shot of Logan Beard's '96 VW Jetta from Williamstown. He had a parking permit for the after party. When we asked him how he got it, he said it was for the Light show competition later that evening where he won "Best of Light Show", 3rd Place. Center picture shows Jim & Becky Beard's '91 Mazda Miata which took 2nd Place in "Best of the Fast & Furious Customs" also out of Williamstown. The Dark Green Camaro pictured to the right is of Pat Wirt's ride out of Williamstown.

Below you can see Adam Bernodin's '69 Dodge Charger out of Ashland in the photo to the left. He opted to leave the '62 Dodge police car at home for this event. Heck, there were enough police pulling people over for burnouts. To the right you can see Bill Schofstall's low Ford F100 fleetside cruiser out of Wiconisco. Bill left the Willys at home, but still made the video on the Pottsville Republican site.

Below in the left picture, you'll see what Ed Wassell was driving. He said he didn't want to run the Monza since it doesn't like hot days and slow traffic too much. meanwhile, his boss sent him in a Solstice to do a little advertising. Tough job, huh! To the Center you will see a sweet blacked out, white '55 Chevy. To the right is Jesse Abdo's perfect supercharged '57 Chevy. he wasn't in the cruise itself, but it's presence was definitely noted.

Below are a couple shots of Matt Doyle from Williamstown and his primary ride. Matt's Challenger is pictured in the image to the left while you can see Matt perched on the wall in the right photo.

In the photos below, Jeff Zimmerman's ride is "dent free" and sounding real good. Dave Lehr caught a ride with Jeff since the Biscayne wasn't together in time. Center picture is an image of Marlin Whitcomb's Chevelle. He got booted from the cruise route for not having a permit sticker AFTER the cruise was over. We don't know what that was about. He had a bit of a problem with a leaking water gasket as you can see in the picture. His youngest son and his wife went for a lap with Melissa and I. You can see his boy enjoying the view of all the hot rods from the convertible.

Here are a couple shots of Logan Beard's VW at the light show competition. I wasn't there for when it started since I had to get the '30 home by dark, but I got a couple shots while I was there. See the GC sticker sported in his VW's back door window!

On the left you can see Dave Lehr's son, filing into the staging lanes in his Extreme S10 pickup truck. center photo isn't a member, but I wanted to note that this person came all the way from Maryland to our cruise the night before. He didn't know anything about the big cruise Sunday, but stayed over after we told him we all would be there as well. the purple Mustang owned by Vern Shipe to the right was what my niece was cruising around in, as a passenger, at the event. This stout car made it to a few "Circuit Satudays" on the small block circuit.
