The winner of our 2007 Horsepower Shootout, Ed Rist, brought in his Nitrous injected Viper to do his passes. First pass was a non-nitrous pull for a base. Second pass was a winner made with the spray turned on and the car fully warm. Thinking they could get more power, they allowed a third pull after a lengthy cool down period for the engine and a warm up period for the Nitrous tank heater. What a difference. Our winning specs? 624 hp and 924 ft/lbs. of torque! Ed was the only driver to utilize the offer by Doug Garrison to have his nitrous tank filled for free. He said he had half of a tank, but feels he benefitted from the tank top off.
