Other members just enjoyed the weather, a walk through the park, or talking to each other.  For those members who checked in at the pavilion throughout the day, there was plenty of tempting desserts.  These were a perfect end to a great day of socializing and an awesome meal!  A special thank you to all members who brought their favorite dessert.

If you didn’t make this year’s picnic, try to make plans for next year.  This is a great event for the whole family!  There is always something to do for everyone! Check out the collection all of Bob Zubrickie’s large sized pictures to view below.

Knoebels Grove Club Picnic nearly doubled in size:

I was unable to attend this function due to a fever I was recovering from and I heard I missed a real cool get together. Melissa went without me, but brought me some food home and left me know what all I missed. Bob Zubrickie also was helping me out by grabbing some pics for the site. This event was near double the size of the ’08 event. How big does that make it? We saw 45 member’s cars show up to be parked in our special lot. When the first cars showed up, they had enough room for 10 cars roped off, but when we said approximately 50 of our rides were coming, so they opened it up for us.

The meal was great. We had the same setup as last year, but by request, there was no “music” for our “enjoyment”. I just want to mention that we did have a bit of an issue with some people who never showed up for the meal. We ordered 210 meals by sign up sheets, but only served 179 meals. We still had to pay for those who missed the meal so it is something we need to look at for next year. Got a suggestion about ways to fix this? Please step up and let us know.

Throughout the day, Matt Doyle was selling Garage Club merchandise from the back of his car  and even placed one of our decals  on a Knoebel’s golf cart.  Next time you visit the park, keep an eye out for it!

After hanging out in the pavilion until the park opened, members and children headed for the rides.  Rumor has it that a group of members invaded the bumper cars and experienced the ride “garage club style!”  Kerry Moyer was given the the “adoptive kid” of the day award by taking members’ children on some cool amusement rides.
