"Diary of a Street Racer"

A screenplay by Chris Ives

.
Chris changes cars like most of us change underwear. I believe the count he gave us at the December 2006 Garage Club meeting was around 122 cars (and counting).

He said 29 of them have been Camaros to that count, including his latest project, a '69 Yenko clone.

On this page are some pictures of some of the cars he has and some that he had. This just scratches the surface. I guess that is one of the reasons why he is our #1 member.

Below are some pics of Chris' shop during the April 2007 meeting and the current state of his Falcon. (I see he has the engine back out to do some more body and chassis work.)

Above: This car is Chris's current cruiser. There is a W30 engine fresh from Andy Jensen's waiting for installation in this unit.

Above: A tribute to the late Tom Larnard, a good friend of all the members, is found on Chris' vehicles. Nice.

Here is a 50's Ford Flathead he is putting together for his old truck project. Cool!

The 65 Falcon is a 302, 4 barrel with a c4 automatic and 8 inch posi. The 56 Chevy has a 396 with a turbo 350 and big Olds rear.

Chris is also working on his remaining A/FX Falcon that should really haul.

Dave Kase and Chris Ives are pictured here match racing during a test & tune session at Beaver Springs Dragway.

A couple pics of Chris' Pontiac Solstice.

Making the cruise on one of our Circuit Saturday's.

He sold one of his two falcons. In it's place he bought a 65 Fairlane. It was a 289 4-speed and a very nice driver.

The T/A is a 6.6 with a 4 speed and posi. Loaded including 4 wheel disc brakes.

Chris also purchased a '70 Mustang Convertible.

This sports a 302 and a C4 automatic.

Chris also had a second generation Camaro to play with at the track. It ran low 13's without Nitrous.

It was originally brown (see below), but Chris painted it a blue & silver "Motion" paint scheme.

Above: Chris had a Torino Super Cobrajet. He sold that project as well.

Here are some pics from Chris's 50th birthday party. It was also one of our garage club meetings. This was held in Chris's 50's style soda fountain he built in his basement. What a great time!

Chris (pictured above) is great fun to be around. He is very knowledgable about classic and antique muscle cars. He always seems to have a great find that he just picked up waiting in his garage to be wrenched on.
