I was really looking forward to searching the swap meet for some things
for our "new" '65 Mustang 2+2, but was quite dissapointed in the size of
the swap meet. They cut down on a LOT of the non-car related booths which cut the
size of the swap meet in half from last year. That really was a good thing because
you had less "Junk" to wade through. There were a few literature salesman,
the Bumper boys were there as usual, and a couple of restoring parts places, but
only for Vettes and 55-57 chevies. Heck, CJ's pony parts wasn't even there. There
were plenty of cheap tool booths and other things like pirated nostalgic movies,
old nostalgic gas station stuff, car and neon art, trailers, lifts, and storage sheds.
Just what ever happened to the real parts that we seemed to be looking for. There
used to be wheel and hubcap guys, NOS parts dealers for each of the big three brands,
and used parts galore. Maybe it just isn't cost effective for them anymore.
The cars did seem to be selling at auction though. There were not near as many "
reserve not met" cars on the car corral floor after the auction. This auction
is supposed to have the lowest buyer/seller premium at 4% each, brings out some quality
vehicles, and attracts the buyers who aren't afraid to spend serious dough to get
them. It made for some fun watching over at the auction lanes. |

As usual, the real stars of the event were the cars. See quite a few of the sweet
rides for sale pictured below. Click any image to see a larger version. As always,
if you want any full size version of a picture, please email me and ask for it. They
are pretty large, but I will email it back to you.
