Atlantic City, February 24th, 25th, and 26th of 2006.
It started out pretty bad for me as usual. I had an engine assembly go south on me
the day we were to leave and I almost decided to stay home. then on the way down
we stopped half way for a drink and I realized I forgot my entire wallet this time.
Oh well, I borrowed some cash from my parents and kept on truckin'.
The show was actually very good. The cars were reflecting the high prices brought
on by the Barett Jackson craze. Muscle cars = extremely high prices, Street rods
= kind of reasonable. Almost all of the cars were very well restored and deserved
a high price tag. I found some neat stuff for my DeSoto, and talked to some chromers.
I am also considering that DeTomaso Pantera pictured below. I even have his number
to put a bid in if I choose to. Who knows.
The club meet didn't seem to happen. If it did, I was left out of the loop and didn't
run into any of them, but I was only there Saturday. If they came Sunday, Boyd Coddington
was there and the cars were supposed to be more exclusive and higher priced yet according
to the brochure. I was watching the auction and listening from around the center.
Cars were easily bringing 50,000 to 100,000 dollars. I may have to put some serious
time into the Olds to bring it back to it's glory days again.
Enjoy the pics. |
