GC members attend Bruce Larson's USA-1 Dragfest:

Pics from the Dauphin USA-1 "car barn" ---> 11-10-2007
This event, which used to be an invitational event only, was opened to the public for 2007. Like always, the legends of "the day" show up to bench race, show photo albums and thier restored cars, and meet the fans who loved watching them race. Do you remember York U.S.30? Did you go to or have your parents take you to long gone, but not forgotten drag strips? Do you just like cars and racing? This event is for you.
One of the most famous local racers, Bruce Larson, opens his barn once a year for this big nostalgia show. From Dauphin, this treasure trove of drag racing history is located right in our backyard. Participants howing thier stuff get a liscence plate with the "USA-1" tenth anniversary design (shown below). Next year, I think we need to make this a club event to show up and see all the glass cases filled with old racing gear and many of the trophies and awards Bruce has earned in his life. This may be one of the coolest "car museums" we could ever visit.

Garage Club members who were able to attend included Bill Schoffstall (who helped with the event setup, parking, and other duties), Matt & Karen Doyle, Chal Schoffstall, Flashback Bill, Beaver Bob, Bob Zubrickie & Ed Rist. Thanks to Bob Zubrickie and Bill Schoffstall for the pics from this event since I had to work.

Enjoy the photos from the event!
