Circuit Saturday 4-Speed Circuit!

.

Click map to see large version for printing.

Chris' idea for a monthly Saturday night, Circuit Saturday's 4-speed Circuit happens each second Saturday of the month. This route was designed by the Garrisons. Show up at any time or any place on the map and join in.

Watch for additional routes as they are added to the website. The plan for this idea is to be able to cruise somewhere on any given Saturday night. Come and join us!

See pics from one of our big block circuit cruise nights below.

Circuit Saturday's first ever "4-speed" route was an "eventful" event!:

Pics from the "4-speed" Circuit Saturday ---> 4-12-2008

April 2008 was the starting month for this cruise route. The event started with some excitement even before it began. As I was meeting some other GC drivers, my cell phone rang. Doug Garrison was calling everyone he could get in touch with. The first stop on the cruise route, Kauffman's Chicken in Bethel was on fire. Yes, they had a chimney fire and the fire companies were there with everything blocked. The decision was made to bypass that stop and meet at Raub's Twin Kiss to start the cruise. (Word is that everyone is OK at Kauffman's and they would be open the next day.) The group trickled in to Raub's over the extended period that we were there. (Hopefully no one headed home after they arrived at Kauffman's.)

After we left Raub's, there was some very nice scenic roads to drive down. Passing plenty of farms, curving country roads, and people waving and giving the "thumbs up", we stopped on the lot at Dutchway to regroup. There I counted 17 cars that were participating. It was definitely an attention getter to the passing traffic.
On our way to the next Twin Kiss, we made the right at the light in Schaefferstown and Matt Murphy heard Jeff Zimmerman step on it a bit through the gears. When he did the same, his clutch linkage came apart and he coasted to the side. The last 4 cars also wheeled in behind him. Turns out after several attempts to get it together, that something came apart in his new clutch. Dave dropped out to head for the rollback while we waited with Matt.

As we were waiting, our cell phone rang. Dave made it back to Pine Grove in his '65 Chevelle cruiser, but not home. His battery wasn't secured and it fell over shorting out on the fender melting the battery terminals out of the battery. After a few more calls, Dave got picked up, headed down for Matt with the rollback, and eventually got the '65 back home.

That's where the evening ended for me. The first portion of the group did finish the cruise with the exception of the final stop at Coleman's park. It was dark by that time and the park closes at Dusk. They have decided to slightly change the route by some suggestions that evening and I will get the map updated as soon as they give me the information.
